After over two weeks off, the Hill Academy returned to the lacrosse field without missing a beat. The Pride faced Brunswick School on April 3, its first since playing Landon on March 15.
Both teams rank highly amongst high school lacrosse programs with the Hill Academy at 10th in the DigitalSports Lacrosse Rankings and Brunswick at 38th.
Brunswick controlled the game early on in the game, jumping out to a 3-0 in less than four minutes into the game. Heating up midway through quarter, Hill tacked on two goals to bring the game within one point before the end of the quarter. The Pride continued to pressure Brunswick in the second quarter, taking a 5-3 lead.
The Bruins did not back down, tying the game up at six minutes into the third. Battling it out for the rest of the quarter, Hill added on two goals before Brunswick responded with a late goal. Going into the final quarter, the Pride led 8-7.
In the fourth quarter, the Hill Academy attacked Brunswick, scoring two more goals. The Pride’s defense locked down the Bruins, keeping them off the board all quarter. At the end of the game, Hill took a 10-7 victory.
Hill’s powerful offense was led by midfielder Brendan Bomberry’s four goals. Keenan Cook added on another three goals to the Pride’s tally.
Now at 6-1, the Hill Academy prepares for its next game against Salisbury School this afternoon. After that, the Pride faces Hotchkiss on April 5 before taking another two-week break.
